Mission trips

Come ready to serve, listen, and build relationships.

Door of Faith hosts church groups, mission teams, schools, families, and individuals. Some visit for a day; others stay for a weekend or a full week and serve onsite or throughout the surrounding community.

Mission team members standing together in We Love DOFO shirtsGroups are hosted, oriented, and matched with service that fits current needs and their abilities.
Choose the right kind of visit

Come for a day or stay and serve longer.

Day visit

Tour, learn, and serve.

Day visitors must schedule in advance. Normal visiting hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Your visit begins with a tour and ministry orientation before time in public areas or an approved service activity.

  • Schedule your date before arriving
  • Share your group size and interests
  • Plan meals or activities with your host
  • Follow all child-safety and photography expectations
Extended visit

Stay for a weekend or week.

Extended groups are matched with an appropriately sized campground or guest house. Lodging is currently $20 per person per night, and a Door of Faith volunteer serves as the group's host.

  • Campground or guest-house lodging
  • Project planning based on budget and skills
  • Onsite and community service options
  • Meals prepared by your group or local caterers
Shape the right trip

Different teams can serve in different ways.

Visitors support the extras and projects that local staff may not have the time, skills, or budget to complete. They do not replace staff in the orphanage's daily caregiving work.

Project-based

Build, repair, and maintain

Construction, concrete, roofing, painting, landscaping, gravel, technical maintenance, and approved house builds may be part of a team's work.

  • Skilled or general labor
  • Projects confirmed before arrival
  • Materials and budget coordinated in advance
Relationship-based

Encourage and be present

Teams may prepare a meal, play sports, read Spanish books, or lead crafts, games, and activities that have been approved in advance.

  • Supervised interaction
  • Respect for the home's daily rhythm
  • No public posting of children's faces
Community-based

Serve beyond the orphanage

Groups may participate in house builds, children's programs, local churches, food distribution, or service alongside trusted ministries in nearby communities.

  • Local partners identify the need
  • Travel and schedule coordinated by your host
  • Plans remain flexible
