Door of Faith Ministries, Inc. is a U.S.-based nonprofit that supports Door of Faith Orphanage, hosts mission teams, and helps people serve Baja in ways that strengthen work already happening there.

Door of Faith Ministries exists to help meet the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of children in crisis in Baja. In everyday practice, that means helping provide the resources Door of Faith Orphanage needs, creating opportunities for children to grow and learn, and welcoming people who come to serve.
The ministry is also intentional about caring for visiting teams. Some arrive with years of missions experience; others are encountering global service or Christian faith in a new way. Door of Faith wants those visits to be useful to the orphanage and meaningful for the people who come.

Door of Faith Ministries and Door of Faith Orphanage are separate organizations.
The names are similar because the organizations work closely together, but their responsibilities are different.

Family, education, and service.
These values show up repeatedly in the way Door of Faith thinks about children and ministry.
Family
Children need stability, belonging, love, guidance, and ordinary family experiences. Door of Faith works to make a large home feel personal and relational.
Education
School, tutoring, trade programs, and higher education can open doors that help young people enter adulthood with greater opportunity.
Service
Children are not defined by what has happened to them. Serving others helps reinforce that they are made in God's image, have something to contribute, and can live with purpose.
Our Christian identity
We want people to encounter the love of Jesus in the way we serve.
Door of Faith Ministries is an evangelical Christian ministry. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died and rose again, and that through Him people can have new life and a restored relationship with God.
Long-term volunteers are expected to share that faith commitment. Visiting groups are not required to be Christian, and the ministry sees every visit as an opportunity to serve people with grace and integrity.
Nathan and Tabitha Karsten
Nathan and Tabitha lead the day-to-day work of Door of Faith Ministries, including financial management, mission-team hosting, operations, leadership development, and the volunteer team. They work closely with the leadership of Door of Faith Orphanage.
The orphanage has cared for children since 1959.
Door of Faith Orphanage began in 1959. The U.S. ministry developed later to help sustain that work, welcome mission groups, and strengthen the resources available to the children and staff.
