These expectations apply to visitors, volunteers, churches, schools, mission teams, donors, and ministry communication. They apply anywhere information may become publicly accessible, including social media, websites, video, livestreams, and public presentations.
Before you share anything publicly
- Do not post an identifiable child's face.
- Blur or fully cover a face before using an otherwise approved image.
- Do not use a child's real name in public captions or stories.
- Use only an approved initial or pseudonym when needed.
- Do not publish a child's family situation, diagnosis, trauma history, placement details, or other private information.
- When in doubt, ask Door of Faith before publishing.
Dignity in storytelling
Tell stories that respect the person, not just the need.
Children at Door of Faith are more than the circumstances that brought them into care. They are known, loved, educated, celebrated, challenged, and given opportunities to grow and serve.
Do not make the visitor the hero.
Emphasize long-term relationships, local leadership, ordinary care, and the strengths already present in the community.
Share less when less is enough.
A meaningful story rarely requires revealing private details about a child's family, health, or history.
Website forms and privacy
Your message is routed privately.
The public website does not display staff email addresses. Contact, mission-trip, and volunteer forms send the information you provide through the site's secure relay so Door of Faith can respond.
What not to send through a public form
Do not submit payment-card information, passport copies, medical records, information about a child in care, or other sensitive documents. A Door of Faith host can provide an appropriate private method when those materials are actually needed.
